One day to go before the Sundance Film Festival kicks off. This year in addition to the standard fare an interesting new electronics device will be introduced. The POKEN is small USB-key sized device that can transfer data to another device wirelessly. In place of exchanging business cards you can wirelessly exchange contact information or other data. Neat idea and yet another reason to be excited about Sundance. Read more about the POKEN.

TechWatch's David Allen covers Sundance's use of Video On Demand for the Sundance Film Festival 2010. Read about it here: http://www.techwatch.co.uk/2010/01/18/sundance-to-use-vod-for-films/
This will undoubtedly be a huge success for Sundance. Streaming video is one of the fastest growing segments of the web. The very nature of the Sundance Film Festival limits the exposure some of the artists receive. That will no longer be the case.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that the Sundance Film Festival's focus is on... FILMS! However the Sundance ASCAP Music Cafe features eight days of live performance. Featured artists include established mainstreamers, such as LeAnn Rhimes, but also a wide range of up and coming acts. Read about showtimes and locations here: http://festival.sundance.org/2010/film_events/music_cafe/.
